"Reactions and Spectroscopy of Unstable Nuclei"

Brief Description:
This workshop is mainly devoted to recent theoretical and experimental studies in nuclear reactions, nuclear astrophysics, and related topics. The workshop will also count with the participation of European scientists, actively engaged in the physics of rare nuclear isotopes.
The topics covered by the workshop will be:
--(p, 2p) and (p, pn) reactions and nuclear spectroscopy;
-- Coulomb excitation, transfer and knockout reactions with exotic nuclear beams;
--Nuclear reactions with rare isotopes in inverse kinematics;
--Big bang and stellar nucleosynthesis studied with radioactive nuclear beams;
--New modes of nuclear excitation and nuclear decay of exotic nuclei;
--Mapping the properties of nuclear matter from low to high densities.
Potential participants are encouraged to do online register by 30th May 2014.

"Advances in the Computational Nuclear Many-Body Problem"

Brief Description:
The workshop will be devoted to the most recent theoretical and computational advances in the nuclear many-body problem, with a focus on physics of rare isotopes, in the context of the next-generation radioactive beam facilities and new high performance supercomputing capabilities worldwide. This CUSTIPEN workshop will be held in conjunction with the JUSTIPEN workshop at RIKEN, 9-12 December 2013.
The topics covered by the workshop will be:
--- Nuclear structure and dynamics at the limits of nuclear existence;
--- Neutron-rich matter in finite nuclei and neutron stars;
--- Many-body techniques: ab inito, configuration interaction and density functional theory;
--- Algorithmic aspects of the nuclear many-body problem;
--- Computational challenges on the threshold of the extreme scale.

"Dynamics of nuclear decays and related topics"

Dear colleagues,
China-U.S. Theory Institute for Physics with Exotic Nuclei (CUSTIPEN) is organizing a three-day mini symposium which will be held from 31st Oct. to 2nd Nov. 2013 at Peking University. This symposium is mainly devoted to recent theoretical and experimental studies of nuclear structures via the various decays of nuclei.
The main topics covered by the symposium would be:
---Collective rotations of nuclei;
---Rotations of actinide nuclei;
---Rotational bands and triaxiality in neutron-rich nuclei;
---New mass models and mass measurements;
---β decays and β-delayed nucleon emissions in exotic nuclei;
---Direct nucleon emissions near drip lines;
---Cluster decays of nuclei.
