The CUSTIPEN-Beijing Workshop on RIB Sciences (2nd China-US-RIB Meeting on Physics of Nuclei and Hadrons) will be held from Oct. 16 to 18, 2017 in Peking University, Beijing, China.
Following the spirit of the first China-US-RIB meeting held at Michigan State University in May 2015 , the main purpose of this meeting is to bring together experimentalists and theorists from China and the U.S. with interests in the physics of radioactive nuclei and in building bridges between nuclear and hadronic physics. We wish to continue exploring various forms of collaborative endeavors between China and the U.S. in experiments and theories relevant to the science programs to be carried out at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) in the US and the High Intensity Accelerator Facility (HIAF) in China. Recognizing that quantum chromodynamics provides intellectual foundations for nuclear physics, we also wish to further explore the connections between low- and medium-energy physics.
This will be a 3-day collaboration meeting, capitalizing on the outcomes of the May 2015 meeting at MSU. The first day will be devoted to facility, Working Group, CUSTIPEN, and FRIB-CSC Fellowship reports. During the second day, working groups will discuss on-going and planned collaborations and produce recommendations. During the concluding day, Working Groups will present their findings and recommendations, and this will be followed by an open discussion, resulting in a set of adopted recommendations.
The arrival date is Oct.15, 2017. The meeting will conclude late afternoon on Oct. 18.Deadline of early registration: July 1st, 2017
